Four Matches. One Big Dream.<\/p>\n In 2022, Mr. Dewald Pieters \u2014 a father, coach and owner of Champs Youth Sports and Champs Rugby Development \u2014 saw a need within more match time experience in primary school rugby.<\/p>\n Players needed more game time.<\/p>\n They needed to experience something different. They needed to play against schools outside their normal circles, face new challenges and gain the kind of experience that can only come from being on the field, playing a match.<\/p>\n And so, Friday Night Lights was born.<\/p>\n The beginning was humble: one field and four rugby matches per night.<\/p>\n But the vision was always bigger than the numbers.<\/p>\n In 2024, Mr. Danie Kruger, owner of LCTS (Lekwa Cooling Tower Services), bought into the dream, the vision and became the main sponsor. His commitment helped take the concept to another level, and the series proudly became known as LCTS Friday Night Lights.<\/p>\n AND THE DREAM KEPT GROWING… Schools, coaches, sponsors, officials, volunteers, parents and various role players have all played a part in building the series into what it is today. The dream continued to attract people who shared the belief that primary school sport needs more opportunities for young players.<\/p>\n Then, in 2026, the vision expanded beyond rugby when Netball joined the LCTS Friday Night Lights family.<\/p>\n Ms. Monique Meyer \u2014 a mother, coach, former Protea netball player and owner of Champs Netball Development \u2014 also bought into the vision and the need to create more opportunities for young netball players.<\/p>\n What started with one field and four matches has grown into a Rugby Series operating across three fields with 18 matches per night, with Netball now beginning its own journey of growth.<\/p>\n And while the numbers tell a story of growth, the real story is found in the children who get the opportunity to play, to compete,
